The Jigsaw Puzzle Narrative & The Faculty Of Perception

The mind is a victim of its emotion

People underestimate my level of awareness, and that’s psychologically intriguing; some will engage me in a conversation as if I’m mentally ill or slightly strange. Some even speak slowly and break their vocabulary down to two syllables, as if they’re interacting with an incoherent person in Special Ed.

Some launch sarcasm indirectly, while others blatantly discredit my individuality and ridicule my work. In some environments I’m heavily avoided and treated as unstable…. Booking agents are dismissive of my presence, some admonish my credibility, others engage me with childlike condescensions, while others believe with conviction that I’m a genius, and no counterargument can remove their doubt..

They’re victims of their ego and held hostage by their perception; such folly of simplicity. I ponder on the narrative behind human perception, and the undesirable nature of influence. Regardless, below we’ll explore three evolutionary stages of a jigsaw puzzle, because puzzles have an intrinsic correlation between its gradual changes and human perception.

Psychological Induction: a jigsaw puzzle is a picture printed on a soft or solid surface, broken or carved into various pieces; one which requires the assembly of such oddly shaped pieces to produce a complete picture. Inevitably, each fragments depict a prominent contribution to a much larger visual narrative. A jigsaw puzzle elicits two fundamental state; knowledge and intelligence; the former being contingent on the acquisition of information and the latter being conducive to spatial reasoning..

Spatial Induction there’s three schematic methods behind puzzle formulation; visual, symmetrical and intuitive correlation; visual explores the color association, light vs dark; symmetrical assembles the straight edges, curvatures and aligns the symmetry, and intuition is the interlocking between two pieces without conscious reasoning. Once a puzzle is fully interlocked and tight fitted the connections are preserved.

Assemblage Induction: puzzle making is the dismantling of two dimensional artwork on a cardboard surface, the board is fed into a press, and the force of a hardened steel blade is applied until cut into desired shapes. Masterminds have outstanding intellects, they conjure up ingenious ideas and execute complex schemes, and puzzles are just various fragments of a larger systematic scale.

Our moral and legal obligations are bounded to resolve and assemble things that lack clarity, and if unpredictability supersedes our sense of reasoning it can be infuriating; interestingly enough, the mind is fallible towards its emotions, and serves as a prelude to delusions, despite being contradicted. It’s an immaterial disease, and emotions are the symptoms that impair the faculties of perception. I say this without a sense of irony!
